Thermal transport in bismuth-antimony-telluride-selenide thin films

摘要

In the past decades, the bismuth-antimony-telluride-selenide (Bi-Sb-Te-Se) materials family attracts enormous amount of research interest. These materials have long been known as excellent thermoelectric materials and recently some of them have been demonstrated to be 3D topological insulators. From thermal point of view, it is crucial to obtain a thorough understanding of heat transfer in these thin films in order to guide the thermal design of future devices based on this material system. This presentation will discuss the measurement of the in-plane thermal transport properties using micro-Raman technique. The thickness-dependent thermal conductivity measurement together with the electrical conductivity measurement shed light on the transport phenomena occurring in these materials including contributions from electrons and phonons and the effects of various scattering processes.
