摘要

The reduction temperature of aggregate is necessary in production of high efficiency massive concrete structures. The problem was that in the desert regions the high temperature aggregate can develop cracks inside the structure due to the thermal stress thanks to the chemical reaction between water and cement or hydration chemical reaction. This study focuses on design a continuous aggregate cooling system using cooled air. The developed design can decrease the temperature of 1 ton of small grain size aggregate from the 30 to 2 °C in 2 minute. The developed system can save both the time and energy by moving the cold air inside the gaps between the stones which have different diameter in the range 10-40 mm. The designed refrigeration cycle utilized multi-stage cooling coils that can decrease the temperature of the cooling air. The design includes parallel semi-hermetic compressors to increase the R22 refrigerant volumetric flow rate and enough to cool the circulated air inside the aggregates layers.
