Abstract

In this study, a new design methodology of a wavelength-selective solar thermal absorber is proposed to maximize its spectral absorptance in the solar spectrum. In general, calculation of the spectral absorptance and design optimization with numbers of iterations are computationally expensive. Using Kriging method which establishes a surrogate model for the performance function, the computational efficiency can be enhanced. Because existing Kriging method has a limit in its efficiency and accuracy, a new Kriging method with basis screening is proposed. With the proposed method, an optimal design of the thermal absorber is sought.
