要約

This study considered carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrocarbons (HCs) and also their blends as alternative natural refrigerants. This is because they have low global warming potentials (GWPs) and low ozone depletion potentials (ODPs), when compared to the currently-used hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). Accordingly, a performance analysis of basic air conditioning cycles using HCs, CO2 and blends of (CO2 + HCs) as refrigerants for cooling applications was carried out. The considered HCs were ethane (R170), propane (R290), propene (R1270), and cyclopropane (RC270). The oxygenated hydrocarbon di-methyl ether (RE170) was also included in this study. The aim for this work was to find the appropriate mixtures of HC and CO2 that can operate in subcritical cycles with economically acceptable coefficients of performance (COP). The thermodynamic properties are calculated using REFPROP 9.1 and a code was developed for simulating the thermodynamic cycle. This Analysis was performed for various mixtures of different concentrations (0% CO2 / 100% HC to 100% CO2 / 0% HC). Comparative results were obtained for R32, R410a, and R1234ze at different condenser exit temperatures.
