要約

A steady-state simulation model of steam power plant condenser cooled by a vapor compression refrigeration system is developed and validated using the flow-sheeting software Aspen-HYSYS. The results generated using this model were compared with experimental data where the condenser cooled by water loop and the water loop is cooled by VCRS from a previous experiment. The results obtained using the Aspen model showed that simulation results are found to be in good agreement with data from the experiment. After that, a comparative study for five different refrigerants (R-134a, R-410A, R-407C, NH3, and R-404A) in the same model is done. The results revealed that NH3 is the prior refrigerant since it produced relatively the highest condensate mass flow rate and COP. Then the model is modified to cool the steam condenser directly by the refrigerant, and three different refrigerants (R-134a, NH3, and R-410A) for this modified model are selected. The results indicated that the direct cooling by refrigerant is better than indirect cooling since it provides higher COPs and condensation rates with lower coolant mass flow rate. This will result in reducing the steam condenser size. The Proposed model could be very useful for the analysis and performance of using a vapor compression refrigeration system for cooling the steam condenser of a power plant.
