## NUMERICAL STUDY OF A MIXED CONVECTION OF NANOFLUID IN A CAVITY FILLED WITH A POROUS MEDIUM FOR DIFFERENT LOCATIONS OF THE HEAT SOURCES
## ResumoIn the present study, the effect of the various locations of a pair heat source on the fluid flow and heat transfer of an unsteady state mixed convection in a cavity filled with a nanofluid (Cu-water) saturated porous medium is investigated numerically. A pair of uniform constant heat flux is partially applied at the base wall, while the rest of the base wall is assumed adiabatic. The vertical corrugated (sinusoidal) walls are fixed and maintained at a constant cold temperature, while the adiabatic upper wall is maintained at a constant velocity. Finite element method based on the weak form variational formulation is employed to solve the momentum and the energy equations as well as post-processing. The results are based on visualization of heat flow via isotherms, heatfunction and Nusselt number; while fluid flow via streamfunction. Two different cavities are studied depending on the shape of the vertical corrugated walls. Also, three different arrangements are studied depending upon the location of heat source pair. The influence of main pertinent parameters is investigated, such as: Richardson number (Ri=0.1, 1 and 10), Darcy number (Da=0.1 and 0.001) and volume fraction of nanoparticles (0≤Φ≤1.5 step 0.05) on the flow and heat transfer for a constant Grashoff number (Gr=10 |
