Resumo

The soil removal characteristic of a tire is important especially for some specific conditions or applications. The main content of this paper is to propose a methodology to investigate the soil removal characteristic of a tire between the CFD simulation and real vehicle test. The CFD simulation using Herschel-Bulkley Model for Non-Newton Fluid for modeling the mud behavior would obtain the lift force of the tire caused by the contact between the tire bottom and the soil ground. A case study for the tires of self-propelled mowers are presented. The investigation of the lift force via the CFD simulation and the traction from the real vehicle test with different tire pattern is discussed.
