Thus, its physical mechanisms and effect factors have been extensively investigated over the last few decades. In this article, a complete 2-D numerical simulation on nucleate boiling in shallow liquid has been performed. A coupled volume-of-fluid and level-set method (VOSET) was used to deal with the moving liquid-vapor interface. The effects of static contact angle, wall superheat and gravity levels on the bubble dynamics and heat transfer are investigated. The results reveal some boiling mechanisms. |
