Аннотация

Organic Rankine cycle is a promising method for converting sustainable energy such as solar energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy and waste heat into electricity to alleviate the energy crisis and environmental issues. The performance of circulation pump limits the development of small scale organic Rankine cycle. Most of the researchers pay more attention to the design of cycle parameters, working fluid selecting and the performance of expander, but often ignore the circulation pump. This paper presents experimental study on the performance of circulation pump used in small scale organic Rankine cycle. By changing the pressure difference between inlet and outlet of pump, volume flow of working fluid, R123, R152a, R245fa and R600a were tested to find the relationships between working condition, properties of working fluids and pump performance. The results show the common trends for four working fluids that the isentropic efficiency of the circulation pump increased with the increase of pressure difference. Increasing the volume flow of working fluids leads to an increase of isentropic efficiency of pump. For different working fluids tested at same pressure difference and volume flow, the isentropic efficiency is in line with the order of R245fa>R123> R600a>R152a.
