Аннотация

Traditional methods on evaluation of energy conservation, by applying classical thermodynamics laws on a given thermal system, is a common way of energy efficiency assessment. In this paper, a different approach is applied in order to achieve the most optimal operative condition on an industrial thermal processes. In recent years, and due to the demand for technical tools for guiding efficiency- improvement efforts in modern thermal systems, Exergy analysis became a universal method for this type of evaluation. It can be applied to any kind of energy conversion system or chemical process. In this case study, classical and advanced Exergy analysis is presented to assess energy efficiency on this industrial thermal processes. Some unavoidable Exergy destruction is restricted by technical and economical constraint. Avoidable Exergy destruction from components of this thermal system, corresponds to the difference between the total Exergy destruction and the one that cannot be avoided. We have concluded improving the boiler operation a 10% gain in energy consumption was attained. This is the most significant improvement in efficiency of the overall system.
