摘要

The heat conduction through two contact silica nanospheres has been numerically conducted by solving the gray relaxation-time approximation Boltzmann equation in this paper. The Boltzmann equation is solved by discretizing the angular domain with the discrete ordinate method (DOM) and the spatial domain with the finite element analysis (FEA) based on the commercial package COMSOL. The DOM-FEA method is validated by comparing the temperature distributions in nano-films with benchmark studies. It is observed that the contact radius is the most important factor which influences the effective particle-particle thermal conductivity. The results show that the numerical solutions with macroscopic algorithm overestimate the effective particle-particle thermal conductivity and the analytical solutions derived based on the phonon heat transfer in transition regime are in good agreement with the effective particle-particle thermal conductivity.
