Abstract

The international level is an important index for evaluating the performance of college education in China. In the past years, much endeavor has been devoted to developing exchange scholar programs, e.g. sending students or scholars to developed counties for a short term study. However, most students are still unreachable to these education resources. Besides, many exchange programs are not fixed and do not last long for consistent education with ensured quality. Targeting these problems, we explored a new way to improve the international education level in China by inviting a certain number of established scholars as guest lecturer to teach our students the advanced engineering courses. This was attempted in our energy related majors in Department of Power Engineering at Wuhan University, China. The feedback from students shows that this practice is very welcomed, and the output results from final exams are positive. Of course, there are still challenges and issues need to be addressed for the continuous execution, some solutions are proposed and will be detailed.
