Abstract

In ramp and supersonic combusting of ramjet and SCRAM jet speed and stability control is a criterion of study and research. In a conventional Ramjet, uncontrolled combustion in the combustor is the problem to control the speed of the ramjet engine. This paper deals with the controlling of propulsive rate and speed of the ramjet by varying thickness, shape and angle of the Ramp placed in the front of the diffuser inlet, which in turn alters the shock angle and Mach number of the ram air. Due to the variation in the deflection angle of the ramp, speed control of the ramjet engine is attained. This results in a controlled thrust RAM Jet engine which finds application in many supersonic and hypersonic vehicles with guided flight over the surface.
