要約

To implement loop heat pipes (LHP) in space and terrestrial devices it is necessary to pay attention to their dimensions, weight and manufacturing cost. This paper describes a new type of evaporator for loop heat pipe which allow to reduce thickness of the loop heat pipe without drawbacks in its thermal performance. Also the new design of evaporator makes it cheaper to produce LHP by using cheap wick material - glass fiber and the deformational cutting technology to produce vapor channels. Technology for assembly of the evaporators having non-rigid wicks may increase tolerances for manufactured parts and the assembly itself, which affects the overall manufacturing cost of LHP. The new design of the evaporator was implemented in a LHP prototype that is also described in this paper. The prototype thickness is 3 mm with possibility of further reducing of this value. Distilled water was used as a heat transfer media. During the experiments, power varied from 10 to 50 W in steps of 5 W. Temperature and thermal resistance charts are presented. Thermal performance is compared to other research works.
