要約

For power generation gas turbines are one of the best workhorses and the efficiency of gas turbines draws a serious attention. A typical simple-cycle gas turbine can have an efficiency of around 28%. The utilization of high temperature exhaust heat at turbine outlet can be done through steam turbines with a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), which makes the system a combined cycle (CC). In general, a combined cycle can produce more power with a higher efficiency. One target is to increase the efficiency of a combined cycle with different types of design above 50%. The effect of different designs was considered separately, and the blade cooled simple and combined cycles are researched for different pressure ratios. In general, the overall efficiency and net power output are influenced by design and operation conditions. In this study, the combination of gas and steam turbines are considered with different design aspects such as fog cooling, two-stage blade film cooling, reheat, and regenerative heating. Reheat only does not improve the efficiency in the gas turbine. However, using the energy of hot gases in the outlet of gas turbine for a combined cycle can lead to a higher efficiency when compared with the case without reheat in gas turbine cycle. The optimum flow rate of cooling air with calculated cooling effectiveness for blade film cooling at pressure ratio of 14, in the first stage and internal cooling and trailing edge cooling in the second stage of gas turbine is used for the overall efficiency and net power output. Aspen Plus software is applied for simulation in this study with different blocks used for components.
