Resumo

Numerical simulations are performed to estimate the erosion rates of an Inconel (625) sample due to air impinging jets. The primary phase (air) is discretized and simulated using the finite volume method while the primary phase results are coupled with the solid erodent particles as the secondary phase using the Discrete Phase Model (DPM). The hitting solid erodent particles' impact velocities and impact angles are calculated using developed Userdefined Functions (UDFs) to estimate the erosion rate over an Inconel 625 target. The effect of the impinging jet velocity on the erosion rate is also investigated numerically.
