HUMIDIFICATION OF INDUSTRIAL PROCESS FLOWS BY MEANS OF WASTE HEAT RECOVERY
Saving of energy is one of the emergent topics nowadays. During the last few decades multiple attractive and cost-effective technical solutions were successfully developed and implemented in the industry. Main focus had been given to high temperature applications as a "low hanging fruit". However, medium and low temperature applications have a much stronger potential for energy efficiency improvement of the entire operation. One of the major reasons for neglecting the medium and low temperature exhausts, is a lack of appropriate heat sinks (consumers of recovered heat). This work will discuss an innovative thermal process, that may cost-effectively and efficiently convert the energy source of wet exhaust into a useful input of heat and water for neighboring applications that presently use energy and water sources (i.e. in the case of industrial baking, it is a dough proofer, water heating service, etc.). Such a process may be extremely beneficial for a wide spectrum of industrial operations, and may partially or fully replace traditional steam generation and electrical heating.
