Resumo

The present work is a contribution to the study, by numerical simulation of an axisymmetric turbulent twodimensional round jet impacting a vertical plane plate, using the FLUENT code. The k - ε model is used in all the simulations. The effects of the Reynolds number and the aspect ratio H/d have been investigated in order to improve heat transfer between the plate and the injected fluid. The numerical resolution of the governing equations was carried out using the finite volume method. We propose at the end of this study a correlation for the mean Nusselt number which can be used to calculate heat transfer in the case of constant plate temperature condition. The correlation is a function of the Reynolds number Re (10000≤Re≤30000), and aspect ratio (2≤H/d≤6).
