Аннотация

The falling film on horizontal tube banks is widely used in the multiple-effect evaporator. The film flow patterns outside the tube play a major role in the convective evaporation. In this study, a fixed three-dimensional model was applied to simulate the liquid film spreading process and liquid film thickness distribution. The effects of one liquid column on the flow behavior of the one next to it were discussed in detail. The so-called volume of fluid method (VOF) was used to deal with the interface between the liquid and gas phase using Fluent 14.5. It was found that two adjacent columns both spread along the axial direction and collide with each other at the midpoint between two columns. The liquid film distribution in the circumferential direction varies with different circumferential angles. When liquid column impact the horizontal tube, there would form a speed lag area near the tube surface and the liquid film thickness and velocity increase with the Re increasing.
