THERMAL COMFORT AND AIR QUALITY ANALYSIS OF A VENTILATED CAVITY: A SINGLE OR MULTIPLE AIR OUTLETS
Аннотация
Numerical results obtained from the analysis of the conjugate heat and mass transfer of an Air-CO2 mixture inside a ventilated cavity in turbulent flow regime are presented. Different configurations of the cavity were analyzed in order to assess the thermal behavior and the air quality inside the cavity. Ten configurations for the air were considered and the air inlet gap was located as far as possible to the heat source. The inlet air velocity is a function of the Reynolds number (5×102 ≤ Re ≤ 4×104). A CO2 contaminant source between 500 ≤ CH ≤ 3000 ppm and a Richardson number interval of 0.21 ≤ Ri ≤ 1375 were considered. From the results, the location of the air gap as near as possible of heat and contaminant sources presented the better thermal performance and air distribution for a Reynolds number of Re = 2×104. For the case of the ventilated cavity with multiple air gap outlets, it was observed that the indoor air mixing capacity decreased by affecting the homogeneity index in terms of the distribution of temperatures and CO2concentrations.
